Between you and AlloCause Inc.
vireo is a panel that runs inside Adobe Premiere Pro. It is published by AlloCause Inc., a company incorporated in Québec, Canada. These terms govern your use of the software. You accept them by installing vireo.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use vireo on up to three computers that you own or control, for as long as this agreement is in force.
vireo has a free tier and a paid tier. The free tier does not expire and does not require payment or an account. The paid tier, vireo pro, unlocks the features that use artificial intelligence and is licensed either monthly or by one-time purchase.
The software is licensed to you, not sold. We keep all ownership and intellectual property rights in it.
Your footage, transcripts, scripts and edits belong to you. We claim no rights in them.
vireo runs on your computer and reads your Premiere project locally. Your video files are never uploaded to us. We do not have access to your media, your projects or the work you produce with vireo.
The AI features in vireo pro require your own API key from a third-party AI provider. vireo currently supports Google, Anthropic and OpenAI. Only Google's models can analyse footage; the others do text work only. When you use those features, content from your project is sent from your computer directly to that provider under your own account. It does not pass through us.
What is sent depends on the feature. For script features, the text of your transcript and draft. For b-roll analysis, short excerpts of the video in the b-roll sequence you designate.
Your use of that provider is governed by your agreement with them, not with us. You are responsible for the cost of your own API usage.
AI output is not reliable on its own. It can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your project. vireo produces suggestions and drafts, not finished work. You are responsible for reviewing anything it produces before you deliver it, and for the content of what you deliver.
vireo requires Adobe Premiere Pro, which we do not supply and are not affiliated with. Adobe is not a party to this agreement. Changes Adobe makes to Premiere Pro may affect how vireo works.
We may release updates that add, change or remove features. Paid subscribers receive updates while their subscription is active. Holders of a one-time licence receive updates for that version line, as described at the time of purchase.
We may change these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give notice on this page and, where we hold your email address for that purpose, by email, before it takes effect. Continuing to use vireo after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them you may stop using vireo, and where a change materially reduces what you paid for, you may ask us for a proportionate refund.
You may stop using vireo at any time and uninstall it. If you cancel a subscription, the AI features stop working when the paid period ends. Everything in the free tier keeps working, and your saved work stays on your computer.
We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms and do not fix the breach within thirty days of being told about it.
We provide vireo with reasonable skill and care and will make reasonable efforts to correct faults reported to us.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we do not promise that vireo will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose you have in mind.
This section does not remove or reduce any warranty the law gives you. If you are a consumer in Québec, the legal warranties under the Consumer Protection Act (CQLR c. P-40.1) and the Civil Code of Québec apply regardless of anything written here. Consumers elsewhere keep the equivalent rights their own law gives them.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you arising out of vireo is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost time, or indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law. That includes, without limitation, liability for bodily or moral injury, for gross or intentional fault under article 1474 of the Civil Code of Québec, and any liability a merchant may not exclude under the Consumer Protection Act.
Because vireo generates and modifies sequences in your Premiere project, keep your own backups. vireo builds new sequences rather than overwriting your originals, but no software is a substitute for a backup.
These terms are governed by the laws in force in the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of the judicial district of Joliette, Québec, have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there where your law provides for it.
Purchases of vireo pro are processed by our merchant of record, who acts as the seller for the transaction. The merchant of record is identified on the checkout page and on your receipt, and their own buyer terms apply to the sale alongside this agreement. Their buyer terms govern the sale itself, including invoicing and tax. This agreement governs your use of the software.
This page is published in French and in English. The French version prevails. Les parties reconnaissent avoir exigé que ce document soit rédigé en français et en anglais.
Published under section 8.2 of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Québec)
vireo is built to hold as little of your information as possible. Your footage never reaches us, and there are no user accounts. This policy explains the little we do handle, in plain terms.

We want to be specific about this, because it is the part that matters most to an editor.
Those Gemini clips stay on Google for up to 48 hours, then Google deletes them.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising or profiling. We do not use your content to train any AI model, and we could not, because we do not have it.
Some of the information above is handled outside Québec. Under Québec law we must tell you that plainly.
Before communicating personal information outside Québec, we assess whether it will receive adequate protection, as section 17 of the Act requires.
When information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, we delete it or anonymise it.
You may ask us to:
Write to the person named above. We will answer within thirty days. There is no charge, though we may charge reasonable costs for transcription, reproduction or transmission, and we will tell you the amount before we act.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your own data protection authority.
If a confidentiality incident occurs and it presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned promptly, and we keep a register of incidents as the law requires.
We will post any change on this page with a new effective date.
Applies to everyone, everywhere
Thirty days, money back, no questions asked. If vireo is not right for you, you get your money back. You do not have to explain why, and you do not have to write to anyone.
Open the account page linked from your purchase receipt and request the refund there. It is processed automatically. Your licence key stops working, and you should uninstall the software.
If you cannot find your receipt, write to vireo@allocause.com and we will sort it out.
Write to us anyway. If vireo did not do what we said it would, we would rather make it right than keep the money.
This policy is offered in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them. If you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK, see section 4. If you are a consumer in Québec or elsewhere in Canada, your rights under consumer protection law are unaffected.
The merchant of record for the sale may also issue a refund under its own buyer terms.
For consumers in the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom
If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within fourteen days, without giving any reason. Our thirty-day refund policy is longer and simpler, but the statutory right exists on its own and this section explains it.
Fourteen days from the day the contract was concluded.
For digital content supplied immediately, the right of withdrawal is lost once supply has begun, but only if you expressly asked for immediate supply and acknowledged that you would lose the right. You are asked to confirm both at checkout. If you did not confirm them, the fourteen-day right stands in full.
Regardless of the above, our thirty-day refund policy in section 3 applies to you as well, and it is not conditional on any of this.
Tell us clearly that you are withdrawing. You can use the electronic withdrawal function on your account page, use the form below, or send any unambiguous statement to vireo@allocause.com. Sending it before the fourteen days are up is enough.
We will acknowledge your request without delay on a durable medium, normally by email.
We refund all payments received from you without undue delay, and no later than fourteen days after the day we are informed. We use the same means of payment you used, and it costs you nothing.
Complete and return this form only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.
